Policy Regarding Expert Opinion Services

This service provides an independent psychiatric consultation and expert opinion directly to the individual requesting the evaluation.

This is a patient-directed service, meaning:

  • The evaluation is conducted for the benefit of the individual

  • Any written summary or opinion is provided directly to the patient

  • The patient may choose how, when, or whether to share this information with third parties

This service does not include direct communication with licensing boards, employers, or regulatory organizations. The evaluating physician does not act on behalf of any external entity.

Individuals are responsible for determining whether an independent expert opinion meets the requirements of any third party. Acceptance or use of this opinion by any organization is outside the scope of this service.

Fees are based on the consultation and preparation of the opinion and are not contingent on outcome or third-party acceptance.

Important Notice

If your situation requires direct evaluation, reporting, or communication with a licensing board, employer, FAA, or other organization, this may not be the appropriate service. Please review our Administrative / Board-Directed Evaluation services page to determine if that service better fits your needs.
